Psychotherapy, or counseling, is a set of scientifically based psychological interventions which, with motivation and client collaboration, change thoughts and behaviors that are no longer as useful as they once were. However, most importantly it is a relationship between that fosters growth and self-exploration.
What types of problems do you treat?
What am I expected to do?
Clients who have experienced the most growth and positive change have been able to challenge themselves to try new behaviors. Willingness is a concept that is more attached to the process of therapy than the outcome. While a goal in therapy is vitally important, the “process of therapy” is where we learn to be more fully who we are . When one learns about her/his own process, then one begins to live every day fully. With that said, it is difficult and a new way of viewing the world that will take time and persistence.
